BUNCOMBE COUNTY, N.C. —
A deputy in Buncombe County, North Carolina, has been arrested after he was accused of assaulting a female, according to the sheriff's office.
Gregory Bembry was arrested and charged Dec. 4.
He was booked into the Buncombe County Detention Facility.

Bembry is on administrative leave, which is standard, while BCSO conducts an internal review of the allegations.
"Due to this being a pending criminal investigation, we cannot comment and will let the courts address the allegations and charges," Buncombe County Sheriff Quentin Miller said. "We will hold everyone accountable if they are found to have broken the law or our policies. We are committed to this community and transparency, and this weighs heavily on us."
