A 6-month-old infant was thrown, and the baby’s mother strangled during a violent fight with her boyfriend in Susquehanna Township on Thursday, Dec. 4, at 10 p.m., police announced on Friday, Dec. 5.
Ramesh Gurung was arrested after officers responded to a 911 call where the line was left open in the 500 block of Lawrence Drive in Harrisburg, according to the release. When officers arrived, they learned Gurung allegedly hurled the infant onto a bed and strangled his girlfriend during the domestic argument, investigators said.
The child was taken by EMS for evaluation and was found to have head and neck injuries but was listed in stable condition, police detailed. The woman was evaluated on scene.
Gurung was charged with Felony Strangulation, Misdemeanor Endangering the Welfare of Children, and Misdemeanor Simple Assault, according to police. His preliminary arraignment was held overnight, and he was given $500,000 bail, court records show.
Susquehanna Township Police said the investigation remains ongoing.
