PHOENIX — A 39-year-old man is dead after a central Phoenix shooting on Thursday night, according to authorities.
Officers responded to reports of a shooting in the area of Second and Willetta streets shortly after 8:30 p.m., according to the Phoenix Police Department.
They found the victim, Jessie Johnson, suffering from at least one gunshot wound, and he was pronounced dead after being brought to a nearby hospital, police said.
Homicide detectives have taken over the case. So far, a suspect has not been identified.
