A suspect has been arrested in the shooting death of a 38-year-old man in Tuscaloosa.

Jamarcus Raheem Jordan, 20, is charged with murder in the November slaying of 38-year-old Lakendrick Rayshon Dunn.

Investigators initially said self-defense issues were raised in the deadly shooting, but further investigation – including ballistic evidence and follow up interviews - led to the charges against Jordan.

Tuscaloosa police were dispatched at 4 p.m. on Nov. 23 to a report of a person shot in the 600 block of 30th Avenue.

They arrived to find Dunn dead.

Jordan remained on the scene and underwent questioning by detectives. Dunn was also armed.

“Since the time of this initial incident, the case has been under active investigation,” said Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit Capt. Jack Kennedy.
