WASHINGTON — Seattle is now a step closer to knowing which teams will be coming to the city to compete during next year's FIFA World Cup.
The draw for the 2026 FIFA World Cup , being hosted collectively by the United States, Mexico and Canada, took place Friday morning in Washington D.C. One Seattle match that is reportedly set is the U.S. Men's National Team will face Australia on Friday, June 19.
All 48 teams are now set in their respective groups, but the full match schedule with locations and times is expected to be released on Saturday morning.
Groups B and G also will have group-stage matches in Seattle. Monday, June 15 and Friday, June 26 will be Group G matches, while Wednesday, June 24 is a Group B match.
Group B includes Canada, Qatar, Switzerland and the winner of a Europe
