In a rematch of last year’s championship game , Summerville will look to unseat three-time defending state champion Dutch Fork in the Class AAAAA Division I title game at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 6 at Oliver C. Dawson Stadium in Orangeburg.
Dutch Fork (11-1) is making a state record 10th consecutive appearance in the state championship game, having won eight titles over the last nine seasons.
“They are the standard in our state right now,” Summerville coach Ian Rafferty said. “They are well-coached, and they play the game the right way. They have really good players, and they play hard. It’s a big challenge, but I believe we are prepared for it.”
