PORT CLINTON — The late Harold Brown, of Port Clinton, wanted to be known for more than being a Tuskegee Airman.
His stepson, Jonathan Bordner, said he spent a lot of time talking with his stepfather about life.
“When my stepdad and I talked, he would say, ‘People always elaborated on just four years of my life,’” Mr. Bordner said. “He knew the years in the war were important, but he wanted people to also know he spent decades as an educator as well.”
The Ottawa County Community Foundation and Liberty Aviation Museum have announced the creation of the Harold H. Brown Aviation Scholarship. The scholarship is meant to honor the extraordinary life and legacy of the retired Lt. Col. Harold H. Brown, a Tuskegee Airman, educator, author, and longtime Port Clinton resident.
