The Township of Edwardsburgh Cardinal recognized its superb crop of residents in its 2025 Community Awards ceremony Thursday night.

In a gala on the top floor of the Town Hall in Spencerville, seven awards were handed out to people from the township who went above and beyond in 2025 and throughout their lives.

“Edwardsburgh Cardinal is truly a special place filled with special people,” said local MP Michael Barrett in the ceremony’s opening speech. “Everyone here should be proud of themselves, because you always go the extra mile to help someone who needs a hand.”

Sheila Bush took home the Citizen of the Year award to a standing ovation from the crowd in attendance at the ceremony.
