SHREVEPORT, La. -- Shreveport property taxpayers are getting their 2025 tax bills later than usual this year.

That's because the city's Finance Department received the official tax rolls from the Caddo Parish Tax Assessor several weeks later than expected, the city said Friday in a news release.

After the rolls were submitted, the information had to be checked for errors and formatted for billing before being mailed or posted online.

The information is now accessible online. Paper bills will be mailed starting early next week.

Because of the delay, the city has extended the payment deadline from Dec. 31 until Jan. 16.

Councilman Grayson Boucher said in a social media post the delay "has put the taxpayers of the parish and the taxing bodies of the parish in a rough spot."
