Although results remain below the provincial average in all areas of assessment, the Grand Erie District School Board is showing notable improvements in the latest provincial testing scores.

Results from the Brant Haldimand Norfolk Catholic District School Board show some modest gains in almost all areas of testing.

Like many across the province, local students continue to struggle in math.

Just 45 per cent of Grand Erie students and 44 per cent of local Catholic students in Grade 6 met the provincial standard in math.

Although Grand Erie’s Grade 9 math results were up nine per cent from last year (from 41 per cent to 50 per cent of students meeting the provincial standard), half of students did not.
