District 4 champion Southern Columbia captured its 15th overall state championship after a 43-22 victory over Farrell in the Class 2A title game.
Below are three reasons why the Tigers captured their seventh consecutive title in the PIAA 2A finale at Cumberland Valley’s Chapman Field.
Making the opposing offensive line’s life miserable
The Tigers front seven made life a living nightmare for Farrell’s offensive line for four quarters.
Southern Columbia’s defensive line towered over everyone on Farrell’s offense and they played like it as well. As a unit, the group totaled four sacks and seven tackles for loss.
The numbers don’t do it justice. Farrell quarterback Aaron Pegues rarely had time to set his feet and deliver a solid throw. He opted more for fadeaway prayers.
