HOLYOKE — Families navigating special education will have a chance to get answers and advocacy tips next week.
Ward 6 School Committee member-elect Patty Norris Lubold is hosting the EmpowerED Family individualized Education Program Support Forum on Wednesday at 6 p.m. at Holyoke Media at 1 Court Plaza.
The event will feature Leslie Leslie of the Federation for Children with Special Needs, who will explain how the individualized education program process works and what families should expect from schools.
Lyn Horan, chair of the city’s Commission on Disabilities, will open the session with remarks on Holyoke’s commitment to equity and inclusion.
