A suspect was taken into custody after police made a major counterfeit merchandise bust outside Dolphin Mall in Sweetwater on Friday, officials said.
Sweetwater Police officials said detectives saw multiple purchases being made in the mall parking lot and moved in to arrest the suspect.
What the detectives found inside a truck was a large haul of counterfeit watches, bags and other items that included luxury labels like Rolex and Louis Vuitton.
The 24-year-old suspect was taken into custody and faces charges related to counterfeiting goods. His name hasn't been released.
“The issue with counterfeit items like these are people think they are real and that they’re a good deal, so there’s multiple victims here," assistant police chief Francisco Fernandez said.
