YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio — The mother of a former Ursuline High School student who filed a federal lawsuit claiming her son was hazed and sexually abused by members of the Fighting Irish football team has reached a settlement with the family of one of the defendants.
Documents filed Thursday in Northern Ohio U.S. District Court show both sides have filed to dismiss all claims against the teen defendant, who like the alleged male victim was a former Ursuline football player. According to the filing, "The matter having been resolved to the parties' satisfaction," though terms of the settlement were not disclosed.
The defendant was identified only by his initials since he is a minor. The lawsuit had claimed he took part in the hazing of "Son Doe" during an out-of-state team trip this past June, w
