CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) - The family of a Charlotte nightclub employee says the 29-year-old was checking on his coworkers when he was killed Nov. 30.
D’andre Weaver died after being shot at Queens Cabaret in Noda, where he worked as a bouncer.
“He was just a good guy, everybody you will talk to about him will absolutely say the same thing, he was just a big ol’ teddy bear,” cousin Issha Cain said.
Weaver wasn’t working the night he was killed, but had stopped by the business on Atando Avenue to make sure his security team was ok, Cain said. At some point Weaver asked a patron to leave the nightclub, when an argument began and shots were fired, Cain said.
Both Weaver and another man were killed, according to Charlotte-Mecklenburg police, which hasn’t released additional details about t
