PUEBLO, Colo. (KKTV) - Robert Rudichar was sentenced to 40 years in prison after pleading guilty to second-degree murder in the 2023 death of Franklin Bruner, according to the 10th Judicial District Attorney’s Office.
On July 29, 2023, officials said Pueblo police officers responded to a home on Berkley Avenue for a report of a suicidal person, as well as another report that Rudichar had called his father and admitted to shooting his friend.
Upon arrival, officials said Bruner and a dog were both located with multiple gunshot wounds. The attorney’s office said Bruner had died at the scene, and the dog had to be euthanized due to the severity of its injuries.
Rudichar had fled the state but was reportedly arrested in New Mexico, accused of firing a rifle at police.
