PUEBLO, Colo. (KKTV) - The Pueblo County Sheriff’s Office is giving the community a new look at the work being done at the new Pueblo County Detention Center.
After several years of planning and construction, the new detention center is now nearly complete. Deputies said that this new building will replace the current 45-year-old building.
They said the old building has faced issues with overcrowding, outdated infrastructure and deteriorating conditions.
They said this new building will provide 672 beds, which is more than 150 more beds than the current facility. Deputies said it will also include space for administration, warehouse and maintenance operations, a medical clinic and infirmary, evidence and property storage, a full-service kitchen, laundry and areas for inmate programs.
