BERRIEN COUNTY, Mich. (WNDU) - The C-D-C vaccine advisers voted to end the longstanding recommendation for babies to receive the Hepatitis B vaccine hours after birth on Friday.
This decision comes at a time of widespread ‘Vaccine Mistrust in America’, which has led to low vaccination rates.
16 News Now spoke with the Berrien County Health Department.
Since the Coronavirus pandemic, vaccination rates have declined across the country — and Berrien County is no exception.
But with Influenza and Covid-19 infections on the rise, the Berrien County Health Department officials encourage residents to get their seasonal vaccinations.
The Berrien County Health Department reports an 18-percent vaccination rate for Influenza and five-percent for Covid-19.
