OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - The Omaha Police Officer’s Association is responding to the shooting on Wednesday .
Three Omaha police officers were shot and one was injured at a gas station in South Omaha Wednesday afternoon, looking for a suspect from a Wednesday morning shooting that left a 61-year-old man injured.
OPOA President Patrick Dempsey expressed worry for officers and what incidents like this can mean for your safety.
He told First Alert 6 this week’s shooting is one of six in the last year.
Those include times when an officer was shot or shot at by someone.
While in all of these situations, the officers have survived, he says this isn’t a trend he wants to see continue.
