CARTER LAKE, Iowa. (WOWT) - A trucking company that hauled mail for nearly half a century is shutting down after losing a majority of its revenue.

10 Roads Express in Carter Lake is winding down operations after the U.S. Postal Service shifted away from using contractors, making their business model unsustainable, the company said.

The Carter Lake-based company lost 70% of its revenue over two years.

In a statement to First Alert 6, the company said, “Despite extensive efforts to adapt, 10 Roads has been unable to reduce its platform enough to make continued operations sensible, leading to the difficult decision to cease operations.”
