AMES, Iowa (KCRG) - Just minutes after reports of Matt Campbell’s departure, Iowa State announced Washington State head coach Jimmy Rogers will be the next head coach of the Cyclones.
Rogers went 6-6 in his one season at Washington State.
Before his stint in Washington, Rogers spent two years at the head coach of South Dakota State University, winning the 2023 FCS National Championship, and making it to the semifinals in 2024.
Rogers was previously an assistant for the Jackrabbits from 2013-2022.
“Jimmy Rodgers is a rising star in college athletics who has very strong ties to the Midwest both as a player and as a coach,” Athletic Director Jamie Pollard said in a release. “He has been on my short-list ever since the first time I met him. He immediately impressed me with his interest in
