Culinary Workers Union Local 226 launched a 24-hour strike Friday against Village Pub at Harry Reid International Airport amid stalled negotiations between the union and 10 companies operating outlets throughout the airport.
The strike shut down the pub for the day, the union said.
Culinary members picketed near the Terminal 3 passenger drop-off lane, passing out leaflets to travelers encouraging them to eat at other airport locations.
Ted Pappageorge, the union’s secretary-treasurer, told the Sun that the “bulk” of the Culinary members who work at the airport have settled their contracts, and that the 21 outlets at odds with the union are the outliers.
