FRANKLIN, Ind. — An Indianapolis man was sentenced Friday following his conviction for child molesting and child seduction in Johnson County.

On Dec. 5, James Thomas, 38, of Indianapolis, was sentenced to serve 30 years in prison followed by an additional two years of probation. The sentence comes after Thomas pleaded guilty on Sept. 4 to felony child molestation and child seduction.

The prosecutor's office said in its release that Thomas expressed "a willingness to accept responsibility for his abuse."

Court documents say on Aug. 21, 2024, detectives with the Johnson County Sheriff's Department received a report of child sexual abuse in which the victim reported to detectives that the abuse had occurred over a "long period of time."
