Venezuela Shoots Down Hostile Aircraft After Airspace Breach Amid Tensions With U.S. Amid tensions with the U.S., The Bolivarian National Armed Forces of Venezuela intercepted an aircraft on Friday in the state of Apure. Early-warning radar systems reportedly detected an unidentified aircraft entering Venezuelan airspace at eastern Bolivar state. The aircraft had its transponder turned off and carried no identification code. After checking with the Maiquetia Flight Information Region, authorities confirmed there was no flight plan, and the aircraft was therefore declared hostile. The target was identified as a white, twin-engine Cessna 310 with a green stripe and no visible registration. Watch.
