For the second straight year, the WSU Cougars have lost their head football coach to a Power Four conference program.
After one season on the Palouse, Washington State head coach Jimmy Rogers is leaving to take the head-coaching job at Iowa State, the Cyclones announced on Friday evening. The news was first reported by ESPN’s Pete Thamel .
WSU hired Rogers last December to replace Jake Dickert, who left to take the head-coaching job at Wake Forest.
Rogers went 6-6 in his lone season at WSU this fall. The Cougars secured bowl eligibility with a win over Oregon State in their regular-season finale last weekend.
