Shillong, Dec 5: Cabinet minister Sanbor Shullai has directed inspectors of the state’s Legal Metrology Department to watch Anil Kapoor’s film Nayak and emulate its spirit by taking strong action against those who cheat or deceive the public.
Speaking to the media after a departmental review meeting, Shullai referenced the 2001 Bollywood film in which Kapoor, acting as Chief Minister for a day, conducts surprise inspections, suspends corrupt officials and cancels licences of dishonest traders and contractors. Shullai urged inspectors to adopt a similar no-nonsense approach and begin enforcement drives immediately.
