Jennifer Garner stepped out for a special literary event with bestselling author and National Ambassador for Young People’s Literature Mac Barnett , shining a spotlight on why picture books deserve a second look.

The 53-year-old actress lit up the stage at New York’s 92NY on Friday (December 5), where she and Mac chatted about the artistry of children’s literature and why picture books are far more sophisticated than many realize.
