EVANSDALE, Iowa — The Cedar Valley community solemnly remembers Elizabeth Collins and Lyric Cook-Morrissey, marking the 13th anniversary of their disappearance. The case remains unsolved.

The girls vanished on July 13, 2012, near Meyers Lake in Evansdale. Their bikes and Elizabeth's purse were found at the scene, but investigators found no further evidence in the lake, leading them to suspect kidnapping.

On December 5, hunters discovered their bodies at the Seven Bridges Wildlife Area in Bremer County. The cause of their deaths remains unknown, and the perpetrator has not been caught.
