WATERLOO, Iowa — As temperatures drop, the need for shelter becomes critical for those living outside in Waterloo. Friends of the Family, a nonprofit organization, is stepping up to address this urgent issue.

Will Bird, director of operations for Friends of the Family, emphasized that "homelessness is really a community response." The organization focuses on connecting individuals experiencing homelessness with housing solutions. Bird said, "I think everyone has a home and the best way to homelessness is through housing."
