Iowa State hires Jimmy Rogers as next head coach
Jimmy Rogers has been named the next head football coach at Iowa State, the school announced Friday . He replaced Matt Campbell, who moves on to Penn State.
Rogers guided Washington State to a bowl game in his first season and previously led South Dakota State to the 2023 FCS national championship.
ISU athletic director Jamie Pollard called Rogers “a rising star in college athletics,” citing his Midwest roots and long-standing interest in the Iowa State job. “He immediately impressed me with his interest in Iowa State University,” Pollard said. “He is a proven winner who has demonstrated throughout his career that he will fit our culture.”
Rogers arrives in Ames on a six-year contract after posting a 6-6 record
