PALESTINE, Texas (KBTX) - The Bremond Tigers fell 64-58 to the Mount Enterprise Wildcats in the 2A Region III final on Friday night.
It was a historic night for the Wildcats’ running back, Kaegan Ash. The Texas Tech signee rushed for 501 yards to break the state record for single-season rushing yards.
“It wasn’t something I was expecting to do,” Ash said after breaking the single-season rushing record. “I was expecting to just come out here and win and play for my teammates. I give all the praise to the Man above and my teammates. Without them, I’d be nothing.“
The record was previously set in 1953 by Sugar Land’s Kenneth Hall, rushing for 4,054 yards that season. On Friday, Ash brought his season total to 4,322.
The senior’s career total currently sits at 11,142, which is just 90 yard
