Centennial's return to the 6A state title game at noon Saturday, Dec. 6 was not unexpected or remarkable from a historical perspective.

The Coyotes route to the finals was memorable, thanks to an ending sequence for the agas against Mesa in the 6A quarterfinals.

The postseason started with an Open Division play in Nov. 14 at Mesa Mountain View. This rematch of the 2024 title game in 6A saw the Toros get revenge 22-14.

In the new playoff format, Centennial dropped into the 6A quarterfinals while Mountain View moved into the Open.
