Thieves broke into a house on December 4 by using a key that had been kept inside the meter box and made away with gold and silver ornaments worth about ₹3.90 lakh. The burglary occurred at the residence of Ramanatha Krupa in Mallaru village.
Raghavendra Kini, a housekeeper at Padur ISPRL, had left for duty on the morning of December 4, while his wife had taken their children to the school’s annual day programme.
When he returned home around 1.10 pm, he discovered that the house had been ransacked. The burglars had stolen a 28-gram coral necklace with Kashithali, an 8-gram gold chain, a 10-gram gold chain, an 8-gram pair of earrings, three gold rings, 8 grams of jumuki and bangles, and a Coorg-style chain with red thread containing gold beads weighing 72 gra
