Indian Railways deployed 116 additional coaches on Friday across 37 trains to accommodate passengers affected by the ongoing IndiGo flight crisis. The decision comes as air travelers scramble for alternative transport options following mass cancellations and delays.

Railways Expands Capacity Significantly

These 116 coaches have been added through 114 extra trips, each with a capacity to carry 4,000 passengers, accommodating a total of 489,288 passengers. These extra coaches include sleeper, AC chair car, and general second-class segments, deployed according to the specific requirements of the routes.
