When did Tristian Spence get so fast?
That’s a question that many in the Colorado running realm must be asking.
She wasn’t slow, running for Central High School cross county and track and field teams, but she wasn’t super fast.
By the time she was finished running for the Warriors, she owned every girls distance running school record.
But at state she would be farther back, sometimes much farther back. She was on the podium her senior year at state track but not near the top.
So expectations for a stellar college running career would be surprising, right?
Surprising might be accurate, but now she’s fast — national championship winning, breaking records fast.
Two weeks ago, the Adams State junior won the Division II cross country national championship.
