KOTTAYAM: A Young man attempted suicide by setting fire to the LPG cylinder lorry parked at Thalayolaparambu. A Kadaplamattom native was taken into Thalayolaparambu police custody in the incident. The incident happened today around 12:30 am. The driver of the lorry carrying LPG cylinders from Ernakulam is a native of Vettikkattumukku; therefore, the lorry is parked regularly at the Vettikkattumukku junction.

The man who climbed over the lorry attempted suicide by opening a full cylinder and setting it on fire. A car passenger passing by saw this and informed the nearby house. The family immediately informed the police and the Vaikom fire and rescue office. The locals say that a huge disaster was averted because no other cylinders caught fire.
