Bhubaneswar: In a major boost to tourism sector in Odisha, tourist arrivals surged to 1,13,83,556 in 2024-25 from 1,00,14,175 recorded in 2023-24, the state Assembly was informed on Saturday.

Replying to a question in the House, Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida, who holds tourism portfolio, stated that the significant rise in the number of visitors was mainly because of the government’s efforts to promote tourism in the state. ADVERTISEMENT

On foreign tourist arrivals, she said the number rose from 37,267 in 2023-24 to 56,547 in 2024-25, while domestic tourist arrivals increased from 85,87,087 to 1,13,27,009 during the same period.
