John Gato finished with 17 saves between the pipes in Middletown North’s 7-0 victory over Manalapan at the Howell Ice Arena in Farmingdale.
Dominiks Marnauza scored two goals with an assist, while Lucas Laranjeiro, Samuel Noone, Alexander Chaknis, Ciaran Willson and Landon Hopwood each added a goal.
Middletown North (1-0) outshot Manalapan 49-17.
Maya Sturm and Laurence Smolyar split time in net for Manalapan (0-2). Sturm recorded 18 saves on 23 shots and Smolyar finished with 24 saves on 26 shots.
