BOWLING GREEN, Ky. — Several tornadoes wiped out hundreds of homes across Kentucky nearly four years ago, and recovery work is still reshaping communities.

The City of Bowling Green and people like Brent Childers, the city’s director of Neighborhood Services, have spent the past four years working to rebuild the community after a devastating storm ripped through the city.

“We lost about 475 housing units during the tornado,” said Childers.

The city has since approved eight different developments that will support the construction of hundreds of new homes.

“There are four major tax credit developments that are underway. Two habitat developments, two live the dream developments. All of that together equals over 700 units,” said Childers.
