Road safety concerns intensified on Sunday as multiple accidents disrupted travel across the Mumbai–Pune region, the most heartbreaking being a high-impact collision near Lonavala that claimed the lives of two young tourists from Goa. Two friends, Yogesh Sutar (21) and Mayur Vengurlekar (24), both residents of Mapusa in Goa, had travelled to Lonavala for a short visit when their Swift car went out of control on a hilly stretch.
