At 40, many icons slow down. Knees ache. Hair grays. Fashion choices become questionable.

Santabear, however, has picked up a crown, slipped into a blazer and tie, and marched right back onto store shelves — debonair as ever.

The 2025 40th Anniversary Santabear, priced at $49.95, is once again flying out of Dayton’s Twin Cities Holiday Market locations and online, where both the original size and the new “Next Generation” version are selling fast. They sold out within days over the Thanksgiving holiday.

The marketing folks at Dayton’s weren’t specific when asked just how many were snapped up. They simply said, “We sold a lot,” and mentioned that their website will keep buyers up to date on upcoming availability.

It’s hard not to feel a little déjà vu.
