A New York woman is accused of plotting an international scheme to smuggle migrants, mostly Indian nationals from Canada, into the United States for profit. 42-year-old Stacey Taylor from Plattsburgh has been charged by prosecutors. She appeared in court on Monday after a federal grand jury indicted her on October 2, according to the Justice Department. Court records state that US Border Patrol agents stopped Taylor’s vehicle near Churubusco, New York, in January. Inside, officers found four men who had just crossed the border illegally in freezing conditions. Three of the men were Indian nationals and one was Canadian.
