As massive cancellations of IndiGo flights have driven up fares for other airlines, Air India on Sunday issued a clarification, saying it has proactively capped economy-class fares on all non-stop domestic flights since December 4.

The airline said its revenue management systems had been instructed to prevent the usual demand-supply pricing mechanism for non-stop economy fares.

“Air India & Air India Express clarify that, since 4 December, economy class airfares on non-stop domestic flights have been proactively capped to prevent the usual demand-and-supply mechanism being applied by revenue management systems," it said in a post on X.
