GREENVILLE, N.C. (WITN) - The radio stations of Inner Banks Media held a two day radiothon to raise money for Salvation Army stations to purchase gifts, food, and clothing for families this Christmas.
They raised a record amount of money this year.
It kicked off on Thursday as the stations broadcast from Golden Corral in Greenville, raising $54,755.
Day two on Friday was live in Morehead City from Mike Toler Chrysler Dodge Jeep, where they raised $50,550. That’s not including the huge amount of toys and coats that were donated by the stations’ listeners as well.
All of the money will be used in both cities to purchase the needed items for families vetted by the local Salvation Army stations, according to Inner Banks Media. The broadcasting company says both areas are seeing an unpreced
