Hopes of all kinds are high at Christmastime. For that reason, a Mobile nonprofit that teaches teen parents how to raise their children is collecting gifts for 25 young families in need this December.

The Ambitiously Him & Her King Foundation started in 2018 to help parents between the ages of 13 and 23 become adults and learn the skills they need to provide for themselves and their children. Latonya Patterson said she created the organization after the birth of her 16-year-old son’s child made her realize generations of women in her family had no support when they became parents as teenagers.
