In a harrowing incident on Sunday, six individuals lost their lives after their vehicle fell into a 600-foot deep gorge in Saptashring Garh Ghat, located in Nashik's Kalwan taluka. The calamity took place around 4pm, with the victims hailing from Pimpalgaon Baswant in Niphad taluka.
The police confirmed that the victims, including Kirti Patel (50) and Maniben Patel (70), died instantly as their Toyota Innova suffered extensive damage. Superintendent of Police Balasaheb Patil is currently overseeing the rescue efforts, which are being conducted by both police personnel and the district disaster management team.
Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis described the incident as 'extremely tragic' and assured that each victim's family would receive Rs 5 lakh in financial assistance. CM
