POINT PLEASANT, W.Va. — Crews responded Saturday night to a fire at the main building of historic Fort Randolph in Point Pleasant.
The cause of the fire has not yet been determined, but the Point Pleasant Fire Department said the blaze was contained to the single structure. Mason County 911 dispatchers reported that the call came in just before midnight.
The Point Pleasant Fire Department led the response, with assistance from the Mason and Flatrock volunteer fire departments.
Mason County Emergency Management Director Jeremy Bryant confirmed Sunday morning that the building was a total loss. He said firefighters had the blaze contained by 2 a.m. early Sunday, and crews remained on scene until 4 a.m.
