DALLAS — One person was fatally shot and four people, including the shooter, were injured after a fight broke out at a baby shower in southern Dallas, according to an arrest affidavit released by the Dallas Police Department.

Officers responded to a shooting call around 9:55 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 6, in the 2900 block of West Wheatland Road, Dallas Police said in a press release.

Witnesses later told police that they were celebrating a baby shower at an event center and both the suspects and victims were guests at the party, according to an arrest affidavit.

Police found that five people were shot on the scene, the release states. One person, identified as Joseph Premeaux, 33, was taken to the hospital, where they died from their injuries, officials said.
