When the College Football Playoff bracket was revealed Sunday, Indiana and Notre Dame were the center of attention, for entirely different reasons.
Indiana, the team with the second-most losses in the history of FBS, was the No. 1 seed in the bracket. That was to be expected after the Hoosiers beat Ohio State in the Big Ten Championship on Saturday night.
What was less expected was the result for Notre Dame, which was left out of the field. The Irish, winners of 10 in a row by double digits, were jumped by Miami for the final spot despite being ranked two spots ahead of the Hurricanes in the CFP's poll entering the weekend and neither team playing.
