Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar has said that the IPL (Indian Premier League) matches will not be shifted out of Bengaluru. Discussions had been underway about relocating the upcoming fixtures scheduled at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium following last year’s stampede incident.
The state government has directed a comprehensive structural fitness test of the stadium before granting approval for hosting games.The Public Works Department (PWD) has also issued a formal notice to the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA), instructing it to submit a detailed structural safety report for the stadium.
